In considering the fears associated with going to the dentist, Marc Goldenberg's 5,390 s.f. dental office located on Friendly Avenue in Greensboro, NC, was designed to please his pediatric patients.
As children are easily inspired by shape color and texture, the architect decided that walking through the office should be an enjoyable journey of discovery for all. Color sweeps portions of the walls as though they were painted by children and continues to the floor in similar color palettes of red, purple, orange, and yellow. Black and white photographs of patients adorn the walls in kid-like settings, emphasizing the human connection of a caring place.
The bubble infused glass block wall adds a playful twist as it directs the child and parent to the bright operatories. The spaces in this project were intended to reach into the hearts of the children, creating an emotion that would squelch the fears of a potentially scary place.
Concept in this project was directly focused on the intended user. It’s a fun place full of color and adventure at every curve.
