The Christopher Guy Showroom, housed within two floors of the Swaim Design Center, employs a sophisticated yet monolithic architectural style. The eight highly visible bright red awnings, illuminated exterior signage, and 9'-0" tall monument sign mark this new High Point landmark. They combine to add flair and style to the tall and narrow aluminum framed windows, oversized 10'0" aluminum/glass doors and sleek EIFS exterior.
With almost 11,000 square feet of showroom space, the two story structure features an innovative open floor plan with a series of angled walls and flooring changes. An impressive open staircase highlighted by a crystal beaded waterfall chandelier whose shade perfectly matches the exterior awnings provides interior and exterior design harmony. The sleek interior design employs about 2,000 24" x 24" Travertine tiles, as well as natural wood flooring to compliment the deep tones of Christopher Guy's home furnishing products. A butt-glazed aluminum storefront showcases the drywall enclosed "chair gallery" on the 2nd floor.
The showroom's open staircase boasts wood treads and risers, with wood hand and guardrails atop a decorative "nautical themed" metal railing system. The white painted open ceiling design enlarges the feel of the space. A granite countertop sits atop ebony cabinets framed by two undercounter wine coolers. The kitchen boasts a double oven, refrigerator, ice maker, cabinets, adequate counter space, and a generous pantry. Over 700 feet of track lights, three sconces, and eleven pendant chandeliers illuminate the space for stunning evening views. The project also included two private offices and a corner conference room with a Merbau wood floor.
